Blooms and Poems – International Poem Recitation Competition
Recitation activities help students to build confidence as they learn to speak more accurately and persuasively. Keeping this in mind, Silver Bells Public School had organized ‘Blooms and Poems’ – International Poem Recitation Competition for the students of std 1 to 5 on 30th of November 22. They rhymed various poems and sang melodious songs in the global languages like French, Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Shrilankan and British English languages.
They mesmerised everyone through their poems. These little poets were highly appreciated by the judges. The competition reached to a level where it got difficult for judges to choose the winners. Children astonished everyone with their voice modulation and amazing memorizing skills. The students participated enthusiastically and the performance was outstanding. The objective of this competition was to make them understand and appreciate poetry, overcome their stage fear, build their self-confidence, enhance their self-expression and pronunciation skills making them familiar with international poetry. The mentors of classes 1 and 2, Ms. Deepa, Ms. Raji James, Ms. Minal and Ms. Urmi along with students’ continuous practice and dedication made the event a successful one. The judges, Mr. Phil Greene, Ms.Reema Ganguly, Ms.Nirali Makwana and Ms. Lata Lakhupota declared the winners.
