Extempore Competition (Std 6 to 8)

Extempore Competition was held on 28^th Nov, 2013 during 5^th and 6^th periods in Yoga Hall. Two judges were invited to judge the students for the occasion.
The speakers were the students from classes 6^th, 7^th and 8^th. Extempore is all about clarity of thoughts and the ability to express their views which demands good communication skills, social awareness and abilities to present the points on the platform. The participants were given the topics 10 minutes prior and they were asked to present their views within the time of 2 minutes allotted to them. They were judged on the talk content, fluency, presentation, clarity of thought and time management.
Few sample topics included- your views about cruelty on pets, hard work – the mantra for success, the impact of media on youth, health, wealth or fame- what would you choose and why, A friend in need is a friend indeed, cycle- the best mode of transport among the youth etc. All the competitors showed great enthusiasm and confidence.
This was possible due to the contribution and support of English teachers of classes 6^th, 7th & 8^th.
