“It takes a big heart to help shape little minds.”

A Silverian teacher is one who teaches in class and is a friend, philosopher and guide to the students. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan said that “The best minds in the country should be teachers”. Since 1962, his birthday has been celebrated in India as ‘Teachers’ Day’ on 5th September every year.

At SBPS the celebrations this year began with a special assembly with supplications for the good health of the staff as well as prayers thanking God for the gift of teachers. The students took over the entertainment programme. The speech by Esha, dance by students from junior and senior classes, and a comedy skit performance was appreciated by teachers. Principal sir honoured all the teachers with badges.The programme thrilled the teachers and made the day enjoyable, stress-free and memorable.

Our honorable trustee Amarjyoti maam in her message told all teachers at school keep a watchful eye and a healing touch. In the second half of the programme a special happy time was organised to honour the teaching staff of our preprimary wing. We saluted these teachers for taking up the noble profession of teaching and giving a strong foundation to children in their formative years. All our ex students were seen moving in campus to meet and greet teachers on this special day.

A special felicitation was included in the schedule at ASIS preprimary school to give away prizes to winners of lesson plan drafting competition. The Teachers’ Day Celebrations ended on a high note with a fellowship lunch, plenty of memories and a renewal of the fact that “However much artificial intelligence forays into the field of education, it cannot replace the warmth, gentleness and sincerity of a teacher”.
